Message from the Executive Team

Dear colleagues and partners,

In an open letter, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, wrote, “… we have invested heavily in establishing a focus for the UAE’s path ahead with the aim of preparing for a diverse economy that frees future generations from dependence on the ever-fluctuating oil market.”

It is this very aim that continues to guide Dubai Healthcare City Authority’s strategy to deliver projects in education and healthcare, steering the drive towards a diversified, competitive economy.

In January, on the sidelines of the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress 2016, the Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed, officially launched the new College of Medicine at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

During the Congress, we also announced the launch of the world’s largest wellness concept – the WorldCare Wellness Village, which will occupy an area equivalent to roughly the size of 16 football fields in our Phase 2 expansion in Al Jadaf Dubai.

By end of Q1, we revealed plans to establish the Clemenceau Medical Center in Phase 2, the first hospital in our expansion in Al Jadaf Dubai and the third general hospital for the free zone.

We also made accessible for the first time to the public, a list of violations and fines applicable to clinical and non-clinical activities in the free zone to further build patient safety standards and promote fair and transparent practice.

At a recent Dubai Free Zone Council meeting with CEOs of free zones in Dubai, we discussed strategic directions to raise the performance of free zones. Towards this, we are excited about a number of upcoming initiatives within a robust free zone model that fosters innovation and knowledge.

We look forward to Q2.
