Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of TECOM Investments, today announced the official opening of N9NE, a unique obstetrics and gynaecology institute and a new generation medical facility that gives ample focus to clinical design.

Located in Al Razi Building (No 64) at Dubai Healthcare City, the N9NE Medical Institute combines cutting-edge design with a personal service to offer expertise in women’s health.

Dr. Ayesha Abdullah, Senior Vice-President, Dubai Healthcare City, said: “We are delighted to welcome N9NE. Since inception, DHCC has established a reputation for stringent requirements in clinical design. We are committed to providing patients with the latest technologies, expertise and medical facilities. Design innovation plays a fundamental role in how people respond to medical care and we believe N9NE will stand testimony to this.

“Through the Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ), our independent regulatory body, we work with all the clinics to identify and implement best practice in clinical design and can help these facilities develop the necessary design standards before securing official accreditation. Maximizing patient care and safety remain at the forefront of all clinical design considerations at DHCC.”

Dr Amir Nasseri, Managing Director, N9NE Medical Institute, said: “A patient’s reaction to the interior of a clinic can have a huge impact on the recovery process. Our goal was to create a welcoming atmosphere where a patient’s first interaction with a gynaecologist leaves an impression of comfort. Many people feel apprehensive about seeking medical care but in my experience, positive and pleasant surroundings will make a huge difference to the treatment process, resulting in easier follow-up and eventually effective preventative care.”

In implementing best practices, the CPQ considers many design principles that have shown to improve patient safety, patient outcome, staff performance and overall satisfaction. These principles include building for patient privacy, noise reduction, incorporating nature, adding artwork, internal aesthetics close to the home environment, coordinating signage systems, improving air quality, encouraging hand washing, natural lighting and energy efficiency.

Now home to over 90 outpatient facilities, Dubai Healthcare City offers services in more than 60 different specialties including allergy and immunology, anesthesiology, cardiovascular disease, chiropractic, dentistry, dermatology, endocrinology, family medicine, gastroenterology, general practice, neurology, nutrition, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, physiotherapy, plastic surgery, prosthetics, special needs, psychology and complementary and alternative medicine.
