DHCA Alert: COVID-19 Update For Hospitals And Day Surgery Centres

21 June, 2020. In line with national efforts to resume activities while ensuring compliance with preventive measures, Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), the governing body of Dubai Healthcare City, would like to update hospitals and day surgery centres in the free zone about elective surgeries and precautions effective today, Sunday, 21 June, 2020 until further notice. 

Following our previous circular (dated 27 May), partners are instructed to comply with the below:

• Surgical procedures:
• All elective surgeries are allowed including those exceeding 2.5 hours, and conducted under general anaesthesia for all medical specialties.
• Operational and general precautionary measures:
• Pre-operative COVID-19 PCR testing shall be done for every patient scheduled for operation; the result must be negative for 72 hours prior.
• Comply with periodic sterilisation of operating theatres, and continuous disinfection after each surgery.
• Adhere to all general precautionary and preventive measures towards tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Partners must comply with the aforementioned requirements, and are subject to inspections; failure to do so will result in violations /penalties.
