Dubai Healthcare City(DHCC) has welcomed the Turkish Consular General, a Turkish delegation, and representatives from the GCC Ministries of Health who visited the healthcare free zone to discuss initiatives and activities on education and medical tourism.

As DHCC is an established, internationally recognized center of excellence in education, research and medical tourism, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways in which both parties could effectively collaborate to promote the free zone’s offerings within key markets.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center (MBR-AMC), the education and research arm of DHCC and home to projects, including the state-of-the-art Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center, and Al Maktoum Medical Library. They also visited a number of the healthcare facilities within DHCC to further understand the world-class services available to both local and international patients.

Speaking about the visit, Dr Marwan Abedin, CEO of DHCC, said “we are delighted to welcome the delegation to DHCC. Dubai has truly established itself as a globally recognised medical hub, with DHCC at its heart. Medical Tourism is a priority for us and we are excited to discuss opportunities to promote all that DHCC has to offer visitors. Turkey & the GCC are key markets with increasing numbers of patients travelling abroad for treatment.”

“We are also proud to showcase the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center (MBR-AMC) and our key education projects. Through collaborations with anchor educational partners, MBR-AMC is promoting academic, education, research and community service of the highest quality across the UAE and the region and is creating a sustainable quality healthcare workforce to support all our patients, from both home and abroad” said Dr Wajdi Al Daghma, Director of Strategy and Business Development.
