Over 5,000 people yesterday took part in the fifth annual Walk for Autism at Zabeel Park, Dubai. The Walk for Autism was organized by Child Early Intervention Medical Center in collaboration with Dubai Healthcare City. The 3km walk, supported by UAE Red Crescent, takes place annually to increase awareness of Autism – a disorder now thought to affect as many as one in 50 children – and to promote integration and inclusion of children with Autism into mainstream society. The evening consisted of fun-filled entertainment and educational activities and was attended by people of all ages, professions and nationalities who came to support the cause.
