UGANDAN MINISTER VISITS DHCC

Dubai Healthcare City, the world’s first integrated healthcare free zone, welcomed Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the Uganda Minister of Information & Communications Technology, to its headquarters today.

Dubai Healthcare City, the world’s first integrated healthcare free zone, welcomed Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the Uganda Minister of Information & Communications Technology, to its headquarters today.

Mr. Marwan Abedin, CEO of DHCC, joined by DHCC senior officials, toured the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center, where they briefed Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda on DHCC’s education and research flagship projects such as the new dental specialist school, the first-of-its-kind medical simulation center and library as well as the continuing medical education programmes. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda was impressed by the facilities and was keen to explore opportunities for future collaboration with the leading healthcare provider in the region.

Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, USA (1978) and also studied Pediatrics at the University of Nairobi (1984). Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has previously held several ministerial positions including Minister of Health for Uganda.

Dubai Healthcare City is home to two internationally accredited hospitals and more than 100 medical centres providing world-class healthcare.
