August 6, 2015. Dubai. Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), the world’s largest healthcare free zone, today organized its 10th annual blood donation drive to help support the expected seasonal demand for blood during the summer and annual holidays.
The drive attracted more than 150 donors.
Last year, Dubai Healthcare City’s annual blood donation drive collected 115 units, equal to roughly 52 litres. (One unit of blood equals 450ml.)
The drive, organized in collaboration with the Dubai Blood Donation Center (DBDC), took place at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center at Dubai Healthcare City, bringing together more than 200 people.
Every year, Dubai Healthcare City’s annual blood donation drive records year-on-year increase in participation from members of the public, its employees, and the wider DHCC clinical and non-clinical community.
Dubai Healthcare City continues to demonstrate its commitment to public health, organizing regular public health screenings and health awareness initiatives throughout the year. Since January this year, it has organized activities and screenings for global health observances such as World Autism Awareness Day, World Health Day and World No Tobacco Day.
