Caroline has 35years experience working in the Irish Health Care system and internationally. With 24years at Executive Leadership Development in healthcare education, she has a wealth of experience scoping, co-design, delivering and evaluating academic and executive leadership development programmes. A founder member of the Office for Health Management she introduced the first National Multidisciplinary Leadership Development Programme, pioneered Personal Development Planning, Leaders Competency frameworks for Medical Consultants, Nursing and Midwifery, Health and Social Care Professional and General Managers to CEO. Caroline also has experience of strategic healthcare transformation, strategy and policy development and reform at a national government and local level. She was involved with the establishment of the Health Service Executive in Ireland in 2005, and the HSE Governance review which lead to the establishment of the HSE Directorate Leadership Governance Structures (2013). As part of the HSE Leadership Team she developed the Health Care People Strategy and designed a range of leadership programmes for health care professionals across Ireland (120k cira). She introduced Performance Achievement having secured National Union engagement and agreement. Caroline is programme director of the Executive Systems Leadership Programme as part of the HOPE Exchange programme, an international exchange programme for healthcare leaders to exchange time in another healthcare system with other EU member states. Caroline holds a MSc in Education and Development, and a National Diploma (Hons) in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the National College of Industrial Relations. She also holds a Diploma in Hospital and Health Care Management with Trinity College Dublin and the College of Commerce Rathmines. Caroline is an accredited NLP, EQi practitioner, Professional Executive Coach and coach assessor with Association for Coaching Ireland and UK since 2004 and coaches CEO’s., Senior Executives in Health Care, Consultants and Clinical Directors. She is also accredited Mediator with the Mediation Institute of Ireland. Caroline is the current Honorary Editor of the Health Management Institute of Ireland. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Hospital Managers. She is a member of the International Compassionate Community taskforce. She has extensive experience as a non-executive member of various healthcare and public sector boards and has a particular interest in Health systems reform and development, Collaborative and Collective Leadership in Healthcare. Caroline is part of the 5 Nations (Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England) Community of Practice for Collective with The Kings Fund UK.
